Christopher Hart spoke at a National Press Club luncheon about the development of self-driving cars, as well as recent safety incidents on trains, planes, and public transit. In his speech he said that while he was excited about what the safety improvements self-driving technology could bring to the nation’s roadways, there is a long way to go before such technology is fully implemented. He also said the negatives of such vehicles need to be carefully researched. Following his prepared remarks, he answered written questions from audience members. close
