Education Secretary John King testified at a hearing on implementation of the Every Student Succeeds Act, which was signed into law in December 2015 to replace the No Child Left Behind Act. Senators questioned him on proposed regulations within the act and whether the department had legal justification to impose them on schools. Mr. King said the proposed regulations ensure a focus on all students and that family members, educators and stakeholders play an important role in the process. close
