The 2016 Democratic Platform Committee met to receive the report of the Platform Drafting Committee on the proposed party platform for the upcoming national convention in Philadelphia. They reviewed the draft and took comments and voted on amendments. In this portion, Democratic activists spoke on the party’s need to unify ahead of the 2016 presidential election and officially voted to approve the party’s platform.
