Three senators,Richard G. Lugar(R-IN),Henry J. Hyde (R-IL),Bob Dole (R-KS) spoke in a news conference to promote a bill introduced to the House of Representatives to remove the arms embargo against Bosnia and allow the U.S. to send arms to Bosnians in the civil war continuing in the former Yugoslavia. Senate Minority Leader Dole said the embargo no longer applied to the area in which the civil war was taking place, since the embargo was put in place against Yugoslavia, which no longer exists. close
