Analysts from the Center for Public Integrity spoke in a news conference at the National Press Club to release a new report on lobbying efforts concerning the North American Free Trade Agreement. The legislation was intended to increase trade between the U.S., Canada and Mexico through lowering trade barriers between the countries. Opponents of the legislation claimed it would cause U.S. industry to move to other countries to escape U.S. regulation. close
