Panelists talked about the removal and detention of refugees seeking asylum in the U.S. A report released by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom and Human Rights First said there was a rise in the number of asylum seekers held for long periods in U.S. detention centers. The report found that refugees who requested protection at U.S. borders faced mandatory detention and were sent to facilities similar to criminal prisons. close
