She declared that Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is not the solution to Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump. Some of the issues she discussed in her acceptance speech included immigration, the criminal justice system, student debt, and her proposal for what she calls a “Green New Deal” to create jobs by transitioning completely to renewable energy by 2030. She also thanked the supporters of 2016 Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders who have joined her campaign. Dr. Stein, who also was the Green Party presidential nominee in 2012, was introduced by her vice presidential running mate, international human rights advocate Ajamu Baraka.
