Robert Klingler gave a tour of the USCGC Bramble, one of nearly 40 180-foot ships built for the Coast Guard during World War II. The ship now serves as a museum. Mr Klinger spoke about the ship’s historic roles in testing atomic weapons in 1946, patrolling Guantanamo Bay, and breaking ice at the North Pole. Former captain Charlie Park also spoke about his experiences commanding the ship during the 1970s.
