Turkish political scholars and American observers talked about the failed military coup that attempted to unseat Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. Panelists spoke about the effect of the coup on Turkey’s relations with the U.S. and the European Union, as well as President Erdogan’s insistence that the U.S. extradite Fethullah Gülen, an imam and Turkish political leader who was at odds with the Erdogan-led government since 2013 and living in exile in Pennsylvania.
