Historians discussed the President’s Daily Briefs on national security threats and issues, which are seen only by the president and selected other officials. They talked about how former presidents had made changes to the daily classified briefings. They also talked about the relationship between the CIA, Department of Defense and the executive during the Nixon administration.
The declassified President’s Daily Briefs (PDBs) from the Nixon and Ford presidential administrations, including about 2,500 documents and 28,000 pages, were released August 24, 2016. As part of this release, the CIA held a symposium, “The President’s Daily Brief: Delivering Intelligence to Nixon and Ford,” hosted by the Richard Nixon Foundation at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library. close
