Treasury Secretary Jack Lew previewed the G-20 Summit in China on September 4 and 5, 2016. Secretary Lew noted that President Obama would call on his counterparts to follow through on the G-20 commitment in achieving robust and inclusive economic growth. In addition, he said the U.S. would emphasize the importance of the Trans-Pacific Partnership agreement and the need to ensure a level playing field for workers and businesses. Among other topics he said the European Union ordering Apple to pay back taxes could hurt Europe’s economic outlook and might cause the U.S. Congress to act on corporate tax policy. close
