Lance Shepherd and Derek Everett gave a tour of the Colorado State Capitol building and talked about some of the state’s important legislation and historical figures. The building sits at exactly one mile above sea level and was designed to look like the United States Capitol. Constructed in the 1890s, the building’s gold dome was built to commemorate the Colorado Gold Rush.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Denver, Colorado, from July 5-10 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
