Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump called for unity in remarks to African Americans at a church service in Detroit. He also said he would carry on the legacy of Abraham Lincoln if he was elected president. He told the congregation that he understood the discrimination they had experienced and pledged to bring jobs back to the community and provide better education and opportunities for young people. He also praised the African-American church which he called “the conscience of our country.” Bishop Wayne Jackson presented Mr. Trump with a prayer shawl from Israel. close
