Director of National Intelligence James Clapper discussed the role of the intelligence community during presidential transitions. After his opening remarks he was interviewed by Letitia Long. He provided some insight on the intelligence briefings being provided to presidential nominees Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump. In addition, Director Clapper reiterated President Obama’s remarks on the recent Democratic National Committee (DNC) cyber hack saying, “the Russians hack our systems all the time, not just government but also corporate.” He also discussed cybersecurity, combating ISIL*, classified information rules, and intelligence sharing.
