European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker delivered his annual State of the European Union address in Strasbourg, France. In his speech, he called for the European Union to consider the creation of new military headquarters that wouldn’t compete with NATO, and commented on the preparations for the U.K. to formally leave the bloc. He told members he “respects and regrets” the Brexit decision but the European Union would continue to maintain economic stability and security. close
