The incoming U.K. Independence Party Leader, Diane James, addressed members and supporters for the first time at the party’s annual conference in Bournemouth, England. Ms. James won the election with nearly 8,500 votes and is the first female leader to run the party. She vowed to focus on promoting party policies in her first 100 days and said she was committed to ensuring that the United Kingdom remain a sovereign nation. Ms. James warned the current Conservative government to “be ready because UKIP is the opposition party in waiting.” close
