He discussed with David Ignatius efforts to combat ISIL*, saying the military strategy was working in Iraq and Syria but the U.S. would be in the business of suppressing extremist movements for some time. In addition, Director Clapper talked about the Edward Snowden revelations saying he would not offer him a pardon or agree to a negotiated settlement. Other topics addressed included North Korea’s nuclear program, cyber attacks on the U.S. political system, and Russian aggression.

This was the third program in the series “Securing Tomorrow with David Ignatius” at The Washington Post Live Center. Raytheon was the presenting sponsor.
