Jeremy Corbyn Remarks at Labour Party Conference

Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn addressed party members and supporters at their annual conference in Liverpool. The speech came just days after he retained his leadership position in an election called shortly after the United Kingdom’s June 2016 vote in favor of leaving the European Union, also known as “Brexit.” Mr. Corbyn talked about the roots of the Labour Party movement and the direction it should take in order to tackle 21st century needs. He said his re-election grew out of “a thirst for a new way of politics,” and he encouraged party members to remain united to be able to reshape the future of the country, especially in the wake of Brexit.
