Election and technology officials testified at a hearing on voting machine cybersecurity for the November 2016 elections. Congress had considered legislation that would prohibit election systems responsible for tabulating votes from begin connected to the internet. Representative Elijah Cummings (D-MD), the ranking member of the full Oversight and Government Reform Committee, also questioned Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp about efforts in his state to increase identification requirements for voters. close
