Law professors and former House and Senate staffers discussed congressional oversight powers of the executive branch. Panelists talked about overcoming the tension between the two branches of the government, particularly when it pertains to information access. They focused on changes that could be made under a new administration and examined the tools both Congress and the Executive Branch have to work together more efficiently. Scott Roehm delivered closing remarks.

“Is the Current System Working or Does It Need Reform?” was the second panel of The Constitution Project event “A Right to ‘"Know’ or a Right to 'No'? Examining the Congressional-Executive Branch Struggle Over Access to Information” held at The Pew Charitable Trusts. close
