In honor of Veterans Day, the Friends of the National World War II Memorial co-hosted a ceremony with the National Park Service at the World War II Memorial on the National Mall. The keynote speaker was Allan Howerton, who served as a rifleman, messenger, and company communications sergeant with the U.S. Army’s 84th Infantry Division. The program begins with flag presentations to over a dozen World War II veterans in attendance. close
