During this part of the debate, youth parliament members debated lowering the voting age from 18 to 16 years old. Many argued that the current voting age leaves a critical voting bloc out of key elections, like Brexit*. Several youth members also compared the results of the U.S. presidential election and Brexit. House of Commons Speaker John Bercow presided over the session.
