More than 300 members of the United Kingdom’s youth parliament, ages 11 to 18, gathered in the British House of Commons for their annual debate of five topics being considered for their national campaign. At the conclusion of the day-long debates, students voted between cuts to the U.K.'s National Health Services, affordable and accessible public transportation, combating racism and religious discrimination, a better school curriculum, and lowering voting age to 16 years old. Speaker of the House John Bercow closed the session with remarks and then announced that the winning topic was a “curriculum for life” that would better teach students real life skills. close
