Gene Sperling, the former chief economic adviser for Hillary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign, was interviewed by Gerard Baker at the Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual meeting. Mr. Sperling talked about former Secretary Clinton’s qualifications for the presidency, saying her experience in the end was a drawback, not “wings to fly but like a deep weight.” He also talked about the economic crisis that propelled President Obama into office, noting that the president had to make choices to save the economy with remedies that were necessary but unpopular.
