New York City’s U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara spoke about corporate culture and governance. He talked about his office’s insider trading prosecutions and the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to review a lower court’s ruling throwing out a major insider trading case. Mr. Bharara said there was reason for “cautious optimism” the Supreme Court would side with his office. The case, Salman v. U.S., involved a man who made nearly $1.2 million trading on information from his brother-in-law. He was interviewed by Rebecca Blumenstein.

“Enforcement: A Report Card on Corporate Governance” was part of the Wall Street Journal CEO Council’s annual meeting of international business leaders. close
