Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT) spoke to reporters at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast about the 2016 election results, Donald Trump’s presidency, and the Democratic Party. He criticized what he called the corporate media for looking ahead to the 2020 presidential elections and potential candidates instead of focusing on issues presently facing the nation. Senator Sanders, a 2016 Democratic presidential candidate, also talked about his new role in the Senate Democratic leadership and what the party needed to do after losing the presidential race and numerous other congressional seats. close
