Telephone lines were open for viewer comments on President Obama’s halting of an oil pipeline project in North Dakota known as the Dakota Access Pipeline. The project was a source of many months of protests and conflicts over the pipeline’s construction a short distance from Native American land. Ellen Gilmer, speaking by phone, talked about the Obama administration’s decision.

The program concluded with a Senate Republican-sponsored video highlighting the accomplishments of the Senate Republican freshmen of the 114th Congress. close
