Robert and Michael Meeropol, the sons of convicted spy Ethel Rosenberg, spoke to reporters outside the White House following their unsuccessful attempt to ask President Obama to exonerate their mother. She and her husband Julius were executed in 1953 after being convicted in a Cold War atomic spying case. Robert and Michael Meeropol were planning to deliver a letter citing unsealed court records they say cast doubt on their mother’s guilt. close
