Craig Symonds talked about events that occurred in the Pacific region leading up to the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, including the Second Sino-Japanese War that started in 1937, and the U.S. embargo of oil shipments to Japan in the summer of 1941. On the morning of December 7, 1941, warplanes from six Japanese aircraft carriers attacked the island of Oahu in Hawaii, targeting the U.S. Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor.
