The U.S. Council on Competitiveness held the day-long 2016 National Competitiveness Forum on U.S. competitiveness at home and abroad with chief executive officers from major companies, academics, and engineering and science leaders from national laboratories assessing the impact of new innovations on the economy and workforce. This portion included a series of panel discussions on such issues as the role federal and state governments and President-elect Trump and the 115th Congress would play in advancing U.S. competitiveness, the future of manufacturing as technology continues to advance, and energy policy. In addition, technology chief executive officers and academic researchers showcased new advancements to help improve the energy, manufacturing and digital industries.
