Secretary of State John Kerry spoke at the State Department on the Middle East peace process. He defended the U.S. decision to abstain from voting on the recently passed United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank, saying it was “in accordance with our values” and emphasized that the U.S. did not draft the resolution. He said that a two-state solution was the “only way to achieve a just and lasting peace between Israelis and Palestinians” and that a two-state solution was in jeopardy. close
