Karl Zingheim talked about the USS Midway, America’s longest serving Navy aircraft carrier. Commissioned at the end of World War II, the Midway was considered to be the largest ship in the world until 1955. Mr. Zingheim spoke about the role the ship played in American naval history and growth of the U.S. Navy in San Diego.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in San Diego, California, from November 5-11, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Charter Spectrum and Cox Communications cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
