Representative Tom Price (R-GA) testified before the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee on his nomination to be Department of Health and Human Services secretary in the Trump administration. He was introduced by Senator Isakson (R-GA), a member of the committee. Representative Price was asked about a broad range of health care-related topics, with a majority of questions focused on the incoming administration’s plan to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act. He said the new plan would seek to insure a greater number of Americans than the current law. The nominee was also asked numerous questions on his personal investments in medical research and development firms. After the hearing Chair Lamar Alexander (R-TN) responded to some questions from members of the press. close
