Dava Sobel talked about her book, The Glass Universe: How the Ladies of the Harvard Observatory Took the Measure of the Stars, about women who worked for the Harvard College Observatory, studying glass photographs of the stars. They developed a system to classify and measure stars that is still in use today. Ms. Sobel is the author of many other books, including The Planets and Galileo’s Daughter. close
