Jonathan Stayer showed items, housed at the Pennsylvania State Archives, related to the nuclear incident at Three Mile Island in 1979. Mr. Stayer shared his personal story as a college student in the area at the time. He also showed documents taken from Pennsylvania Governor Dick Thornburgh’s papers and letters sent to Harold Denton, who served as President Carter’s personal adviser on the incident.

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2016 LCV Cities Tour” in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, from October 15-21 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
