President Donald Trump addressed attendees at the the Salute to Our Armed Services ball, which included first responders. The president thanked them for their service. He also talked by video link with service members at Bagram Airfield in Afghanistan who congratulated him on his presidency. The president and first lady also participated in a dance. During the dance, they were joined on stage by Vice President Mike Pence and Mrs. Pence. Then the president danced with Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Catherine Cartmell, Mrs. Trump danced with Army Staff Sergeant Jose A. Medina, the vice president danced with Air Force Master Sergeant Tiffany Bradbury, and Mrs. Pence danced with Marine Corps Sergeant Angel Rodriguez. Then President Trump and Vice President helped Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Matthew Babot cut a cake.
