In the second of his two confirmation hearings in one day, Representative Mick Mulvaney (R-SC) appeared before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee as President Trump’s nominee to be director of the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB). He was introduced by Senators Graham (R-SC) and Cotton (R-AR). Representative Mulvaney was asked about several issues including his legislative record in the House, particularly on budget and defense spending issues, his positions on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid funding, and his commitment to facts and data for informing his policy recommendations to the president. close
