Dennis Daugaard (R-SD) delivered the annual state of the state address at the State Capitol in Pierre, in which he outlined his legislative agenda for 2017. He provided an update the state revenue system, saying revenue has not strengthened in the last year but announced an agreement with Amazon to collect and remit state and local sales taxes. Other issues addressed included education, criminal justice, tribal affairs, government transparency, and the state’s methamphetamine epidemic. close
