The Environment and Public Works Committee advanced the president’s nomination for the next Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) administrator to the Senate floor for full consideration. The committee vote was done without any Democrats present. Committee Chair John Barrasso (R-WY) suspended some of the rules to move the nomination out of the committee. He said the parliamentarian was consulted and the committee’s action was proper under Senate rules. close
