All They Will Call You Tim Hernandez talked about his book, All They Will Call You, about the impact of a 1948 plane crash in California that killed 32 people, including 28 Mexican migrant workers being deported by the U.S. government. The names of the workers were omitted from media reports and their unidentified remains were buried in an unmarked mass grave in California’s Central Valley. The crash was the basis for activist Woody Guthrie’s protest song, “Plane Wreck at Los Gatos.”

C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2017 LCV Cities Tour” in Fresno, California, from January 7-13 to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Comcast cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2. close
