Professor Brad Snyder talked about his book, The House of Truth: A Washington Political Salon and the Foundations of American Liberalism, about a group of Washington professionals interested in promoting progressive politics that regularly met in a row house in the city’s Dupont Circle Neighborhood in the early 20th century. The house, located on 19th Street, hosted regular political salons that included the likes of Supreme Court Justices Oliver Wendell Holmes and Felix Frankfurter, future Supreme Court Justice Louis Brandeis, journalist Walter Lippmann, and sculptor Gutzon Borglum, the creator of Mount Rushmore. close
