Telephone lines were open for viewer calls and social media comments on the role of political humor, in particular “Saturday Night Live’s” (SNL) portrayal of President Trump. Several television show clips were shown, including the February 4, 2017, SNL show in which comic actress Melissa McCarthy played White House Secretary Sean Spicer; a February 11, 2017, SNL skit in which actor Alec Baldwin spoofed the president in a skit based on the syndicated “People’s Court” program; and late night talk show host Jimmy Fallon’s impression of the current president on “The Tonight Show” during the 2016 presidential campaign in which Mr. Trump played himself. Several Donald J. Trump tweets about SNL were also shown. close
