President Donald Trump spoke at the swearing-in ceremony of Jeff Sessions as attorney general. The Senate confirmed his nomination in a 52-47 vote, upon which he resigned as senator from Alabama. Vice President Pence conducted the oath. Following the swearing-in, Mr. Sessions gave brief remarks and later, President Trump signed three executive orders which targeted drug cartels, established a task force on reducing violent crimes, and a plan to stop violent crimes against law enforcement officers. close
