Senator Ben Cardin (D-MD), Foreign Relations Committee ranking member, talked about U.S. policy toward Russia. He called for an independent commission to further investigate Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. He also addressed the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn, saying General Flynn’s contacts with Russia raise concerns about deeper ties and if national security has been compromised. In addition, Senator Cardin outlined the details of previously introduced bipartisan legislation that imposes additional sanctions on Russia. close
