Comptroller General Gene Dodaro testified before the Senate Homeland Security Committee on his agency’s report highlighting government programs that, in their assessment, are “high-risk” due to waste, fraud and abuse. The 2017 report identified three new areas that include federal environmental liabilities, management of Indian programs, and the 2020 Census. Mr. Dodaro said many “high-risk” designations from the 2015 list showed improvement, and that the area of terrorism-related information management was no longer considered “high-risk.” Other witnesses included the inspectors general Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security Departments. close
