President Trump Rally in Melbourne, Florida
President Trump was introduced by first lady Melania Trump at a rally at the Orlando-Melbourne International Airport in Florida. He talked about several of his administration’s initiatives that were among his 2016 campaign pledges such as border security, repealing and replacing the health care law, rebuilding the military, and defeating ISIL. He criticized the court ruling that stopped the implementation of his executive order on immigration and attacked the media for its coverage saying he wanted to speak to his supporters without the filter of “fake news.” In referring to problems with immigration he spoke about something “happening last night in Sweden.” The reference -- which appeared to be a reference to a non-existent terrorist attack -- was to a Fox News report the previous night about crimes committed by immigrants in Sweden. The president also welcomed to the stage one of his supporters in the area who told reporters that he had been waiting in line for the rally since 4 a.m. close
