Jimi Yamaichi gave a tour of the Japanese-American Museum of San Jose, which has a full scale recreation of a barracks room where displaced Japanese Americans were forced to live during World War II. On February 19, 1942, President Franklin Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066, sending over 100,000 people of Japanese ancestry to relocation centers. Mr. Yamaichi experienced this relocation and built this recreation to give visitors a sense of what life was like.
