Dorothy Height talked about her life and career. Ms. Height served as president of the National Council of Negro Women from 1957 to 1998, and was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1994. This interview is from the “Explorations in Black Leadership” project, co-directed by University of Virginia professors Phyllis Leffler and Julian Bond. This program was recorded in 2003. Ms. Height died in 2010. close
