The Home That Was Our Country Alia Malek talked about her book The Home That Was Our Country: A Memoir of Syria, in which she discusses the lives and struggles of the people, Muslims, Christians, Jews, Armenians, and Kurds, living in her grandmother’s apartment building in Damascus, Syria.
