President Trump delivered remarks aboard the Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier in Newport News, Virginia. He talked about the need to rebuild the military and promised the Navy the proper resources, training, and equipment. In addition, President Trump said he planned to expand the entire Navy fleet and improve cyber capabilities. Susan Ford Bales, the daughter of President Gerald Ford, provided introductory remarks. The Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier was expected to be commissioned later in 2017 and will accommodate some 2,600 sailors. close
